Yesterday at the Moncton Kennel Club Show sisters Ch. Chimini's Shall We Dance
(Jive) and Ch. Chimini's Celtic Dancer
(Ceilidh) went Best Brace In
Show. This was their very first time being shown as a brace. Jive and Ceilidh are out of my boy Levi (BIS, Am/Can Ch. Chimini's Living Like A Legend, WD, CGN) and
Freya (Ch. NorthWapiti's Freya). The judge was Shirley
Limoges.
There was only one other brace at the show (Whippets) but the judge was extremely impresses with the quality of both the entries. I watched the Whippets and they moved every bit as well in unison as my two girls did so I knew the Best Brace In Show was not going to be a "walk a way" win by any means. In the end, the judge told us that we were to go around the ring until someone put a foot wrong! Fortunately, we lucked out and the nod was finally given to Freya's daughters. :) When I got their picture taken I told the judge that the girls' mom came from Karen's kennel. Ms. Limoges knows Karen and was very pleased to hear of the connection to Karen's kennel.
This win is a bit of a dream come true for me because I've been wanting to show these two as a brace since they were very young pups.
Here is a link to brace pictures taken of these two girls in Jan. 2006.
